After the first quest, keep the next one manageable

A completed quest does not mean you have to make the next task bigger. A smaller job can fit a busy day.

Illustrative app screens with fictional data; captured from development widgets. This is not a recording of a family transaction.

Review before repeating

Ask what went smoothly and what needed help. The video changes the book quest to three books on the shelf. The right count depends on your child and the day; there is no required progression. Keep the same clear finish line so your family knows what to check.

Leave room for help

If the task stalls, work together or adjust it. When it is done, the child taps “I did it!” and a parent checks before approving. XP moves toward the chosen family reward after approval. AAP guidance emphasizes realistic expectations and gradually introducing responsibilities.

Video transcript

What comes after the first quest? Choose another task that fits your child. In Level Up Kids, try three books back on the shelf this time. Your child finishes and taps, “I did it!” You check and approve. XP goes toward a reward your family chooses. Keep it manageable, and leave room to ask for help.
