LvlUp Companion
This notice supplements the LvlUpKids Privacy Policy, which also applies to the Companion app. Where this notice is more specific, it controls for the Companion app.
LvlUp Companion ("Companion") is a screen-time helper that a parent installs on a child's device. It works together with the LvlUpKids parent app and is operated by the same people, Farhan Syed under the GIFTY App Solutions brand ("we", "our", or "us"). Companion lets a parent see which apps are installed on the child's device, restrict chosen apps, set screen-time rules, and monitor device location for safety, all from the parent's own account.

Companion uses the device's VPN service to create a local VPN on the child's device. This is a technical way to stop selected apps from reaching the internet without turning off Wi-Fi or cellular data for the whole device. The VPN runs entirely on the device. Companion:
The VPN exists solely to enforce, on the device, the rules a parent has set.
Companion may draw a screen over other apps (the "display over other apps" permission) to show a blocking message when a restricted app is opened, so the child knows a parental rule is active. The overlay is used only for this purpose.
Pairing information, location data, the installed-app list, and settings are stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore (part of Google Firebase). This ensures the parent app can display and change them. Google acts as our service provider and may not use this information for its own purposes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Only to pair the child's device with the parent's account, sync settings, enforce screen-time rules, provide real-time location tracking for the parent, block restricted apps, and keep the service reliable and secure. We do not use any of it for advertising, marketing, behavioral profiling, or sale to anyone.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies. Information is disclosed only to the service providers needed to run the service (Google Firebase), within the child's own family through the parent app, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the safety and rights of users and the service.
Companion is designed to be installed and configured by a parent or legal guardian on a device the parent owns or is entitled to manage, for a child in that parent's LvlUpKids family. Children do not create accounts in Companion. Everything in Section 5 of the main Privacy Policy (parent-managed design, parental consent, no advertising, no sale, no profiling, parents' rights to review and delete) applies to Companion data.
Companion data is kept while the device remains paired. When a parent unpairs the device in the parent app, deletes the child profile, or deletes the family account, the device's data is removed from our active systems. Uninstalling Companion from the child's device stops all collection immediately; unpair it in the parent app as well to remove the stored data.
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, backend access rules that limit each device's data to its own family, and parent-app PIN protection for changes to settings. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we will notify you as required by law if an incident affects your information.
Parents and guardians may access, correct, or delete information associated with their family, and may withdraw consent by unpairing and uninstalling Companion. Contact [email protected].
